Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the Vlog Migration Tool web app (vlog-tool.chavbuilds.com) and the Vlog Migration Tool Chrome extension. It explains what data is accessed, how it is used, and what is never collected.
Data We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. Specifically:
- No account registration or login is required
- No cookies or tracking technologies are used
- No analytics or third-party tracking scripts are loaded
- No usage data, browsing history, or channel URLs are stored on any server
Web App
When you use the web app, you provide a YouTube or Vimeo channel URL. That URL is sent to our server solely to query the YouTube Data API or Vimeo API on your behalf and return the results. The URL and the results are not logged, stored, or shared. All API responses are passed directly back to your browser.
Chrome Extension
The Chrome extension operates entirely within your browser. It reads publicly available page data (video titles, thumbnails, and embed links) directly from the YouTube or Vimeo page you are viewing. No data is sent to any external server. Thumbnail downloads happen locally in your browser using the fetch API — files go directly to your device.
The extension requests the following browser permissions:
- activeTab / scripting — to read the current YouTube or Vimeo page
- clipboardWrite — to copy titles and embed links when you click them
- downloads — to save thumbnail images to your device
None of these permissions are used to collect or transmit data.
Third-Party Services
The web app communicates with the YouTube Data API v3 and the Vimeo API to retrieve public channel information. Your use of those services is subject to their respective privacy policies.
Children's Privacy
This tool is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from them.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes materially, the effective date above will be updated. Continued use of the tool after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
